Selection ProcedureA candidate can apply for more than one post, up to a maximum of 3 departments , out of the departments listed in Annexure-I, but must apply separately for each post/department and deposit the application fee separately for each. No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview, and any fee paid cannot be claimed back later. A written examination will only be conducted when the number of applicants is more than three times the number of posts advertised for that department. There will be no written test for posts where fewer applications are received than the number of vacancies. The Executive Director, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, has the discretion to decide for which posts a written examination will be conducted, and this decision is final. The merit list (selected and waiting list) for all categories – UR/EWS/OBC/SC/ST – will be prepared on the basis of combined marks of the written test and personal interview, or on personal interview alone (where no written test is held). Any vacancy arising due to non-joining or resignation of selected candidates will be offered to candidates from the waiting list as per the merit panel. All applicants must provide their latest mobile number and email address for timely communication. There is no provision for displaying marks of the written test/interview for rechecking, and no query in this regard will be entertained. Selected candidates are expected to stay in the Institute campus if offered residential accommodation. Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for AIIMS Bhubaneswar Senior Resident (Non-Academic) Recruitment 2026 is primarily governed by the department-wise essential qualifications listed in the vacancy table above (Annexure-I), along with the following common conditions applicable to all departments. Candidates must pass their qualifying examination by 31 August 2026 , and the result must be declared to this effect on or before this date. The tenure of the qualifying degree must also be completing latest by 31 August 2026. Only candidates who have been/are declared successful in their qualifying degree exam/viva (DNB/MD/MS/DM/MCh, as applicable) and will be completing their tenure for the same on or before 31 August 2026 will be eligible to be considered. Candidates who have appeared for the exam/viva voce but whose result is yet to be declared will be allowed to appear in theory and/or interview provisionally; however, the result must be available by 31 August 2026. Where the result of the qualifying exam is declared after 31 August 2026, the candidature will stand cancelled, and no claim for selection based on the provisionally allowed theory exam/interview will be considered. Compulsory Tenure Days: 1095 days for MD/MS/MDS degree holders; 730 days for secondary DNB degree holders. Medical registration is mandatory before joining, if selected. Candidates who have completed 3 years of Residency under the Central Residency Scheme are not eligible to apply. The total tenure of Senior Residency (Non-Academic) is 3 years. This includes any period spent as a Senior Resident (Non-Academic) in the same specialty at any other teaching institution prior to joining AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. Candidates already in service in any Government Hospital/Institution must submit their application through proper channel only. They will not be permitted for interview if they fail to produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) on the day of interview during document scrutiny. They may be allowed provisionally only if they produce a certificate confirming that the HOD/Head of their employing organization has been informed. If it is later found that the candidate did not submit the application through proper channel, the candidature will stand cancelled, and if already selected, services will be terminated immediately.

Pay Scale

Selected Senior Residents (Non-Academic) will be paid Rs 67,700 as per 7th CPC, Level-11 of the Pay Matrix, plus Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) and other usual allowances as admissible under the rules.

Reservation of Posts

Reservation for OBC/SC/ST/EWS candidates is as per Central Government rules, with 4% reservation for Persons with Bench-mark Disabilities (PwBD), including Orthopedically Handicapped (OPH) candidates, on a horizontal basis. PwBD Criteria: The disability certificate must be signed by a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board of a State or Central Government Hospital/Institution, and countersigned by the Medical Superintendent/CMO/Head of the Hospital/Institution. The candidate will be allowed to join only after medical fitness certification by the duly constituted Medical Board, and must possess a valid document certifying their physical disability in conformity with the judgment of the Supreme Court of India. The Medical Board will include consultants from related disciplines. OBC Candidates: Must attach a certificate valid for posts under the Central Government of India confirming they do not belong to the Creamy Layer. The non-creamy layer certificate must be issued on or after 1 April 2026 and be valid for financial year 2026-27; failing which, the candidate will not be allowed to appear for interview in that category, though they may be treated as a UR candidate. EWS Candidates: Must possess a valid EWS certificate in Hindi/English, issued by the competent authority for admission/jobs in Central Government institutions, issued on or after 1 April 2026 and valid for financial year 2026-27. SC/ST Candidates: Certificates must be issued by authorities prescribed by the Government of India. Candidates who fail to produce a valid category certificate (OBC/EWS/SC/ST/PwBD) during document verification, or whenever required, will have their candidature cancelled. All candidates are advised to obtain the required valid category certificate in advance. The language of all certificates must be Hindi or English, in the prescribed format for the Central Government. All eligible applicants, irrespective of category, may also be considered for seats advertised under a reservation category. In case of non-availability of candidates in the category for which the seat has been advertised, candidates from other categories, including Unreserved, will be considered for appointment, subject to a limit not exceeding 44 days (extendable by the Competent Authority), strictly as per Government of India guidelines. As per guidelines, EWS posts are not carried forward or treated as backlog vacancy if unfilled; other category candidates may be allowed provisionally to apply for such posts, subject to being considered as UR only if the EWS seat is otherwise not filled.
