APSC Geophysicist Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions to apply for the APSC Geophysicist post: The candidate must be an Indian Citizen as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India. The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam. A valid Permanent Resident Certificate issued in Assam for educational purposes, or an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate, must be uploaded as proof of residency. Candidates must hold a postgraduate degree in any one of the following disciplines from a University or Institution recognized by the Government: M.Sc. in Geophysics M.Sc. in Applied Geophysics M.Sc. Tech. in Applied Geophysics M.Sc. Tech. in Geophysics M.Tech. in Exploration Geophysics M.Tech. in Geophysics Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. in Geophysics Candidates must upload mark sheets of all semesters/years reflecting the subjects studied, along with the final pass certificate. Candidates must have at least 5 (five) years of experience in Geophysical work in the Field and Laboratory.

The selected candidate will receive the following pay scale, grade pay, and other allowances as admissible to Assam State Government employees from time to time.

APSC Geophysicist Selection Process 2026
As per the official notification, this is a Direct Recruitment, and the detailed selection procedure will be notified later, followed by a corrigendum/addendum if required. The Commission will decide the selection provision considering the status, cadre, and grade of the post, or the number of applications received. Depending on the number of candidates, the Commission may conduct a Screening Examination, Written Examination, and/or Interview/Viva-Voce Test, and may conduct these zone-wise as per the districts mentioned in the notification.

Important Instructions for APSC Geophysicist Recruitment 2026
Applicants must apply online only through https://apscrecruitment.in. No other mode of application will be accepted. Required certificates relating to age, caste, and minimum educational qualification will be fetched from the OTR profile. Candidates must update their OTR profile if any additional documents are to be uploaded in support of the advertised post.
