Candidates must be Indian citizens as per the official notification's general eligibility requirement for government/undertaking recruitment. Candidates must have passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination or an equivalent examination with an average of at least 50% marks. They must also have passed Marathi as a subject, either at lower or higher level, with a minimum of 100 marks (higher level) or 50 marks (lower level), in SSC or a higher examination. Candidates must hold a valid bus conductor license and badge issued and renewed by the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Maharashtra State.

Selection for the Bus Vahak post follows these stages: Online Application Submission Computer-Based Test (CBT) covering Arithmetic, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, and Language (Marathi & English) Document Verification of original certificates, ID proof, and category/non-creamy-layer certificates (where applicable) Final Selection, subject to the Undertaking's overall discretion in the recruitment process

The Bus Vahak recruitment exam is a Computer-Based Test (CBT), conducted in a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format. Qualifying criteria: Candidates must score a minimum of 3 marks in each subject and an overall average of at least 12 marks to qualify. Normalisation: If the exam is conducted in multiple shifts due to a high number of applicants, scores will be normalised using the Mean Standard Deviation Method, with the official formula published in Annexure B of the notification, to ensure fairness across shifts of differing difficulty.

Selected Bus Vahak candidates will receive the following pay and allowances: Basic Pay: ₹22,060/- Dearness Allowance (DA) House Rent Allowance (HRA) Medical Allowance Uniform Washing Allowance Leave Encashment Leave Travel Allowance Free travel facility on the Undertaking's buses The approximate total gross remuneration is ₹36,000/- per month. Appointment note: Selected candidates will initially be appointed on a transfer basis as "Badli Bus Vahak" (substitute bus conductor). Permanent appointment follows satisfactory work, conduct, attendance, and service record during the substitute period. Waiting list validity: The waiting list remains valid until the backlog vacancies are filled, or for a maximum of two years, whichever is earlier - after which it lapses.

Anti-Malpractice Clause: Providing false/incorrect information, impersonation, or any misconduct inside or outside the exam hall, or attempting to use influence at any stage, will lead to immediate cancellation of candidature, a criminal case, and permanent debarment from all future BEST Undertaking recruitments. Name Change Proof: Candidates whose name has changed due to marriage or other reasons must submit a government gazette notification or marriage registration certificate at the time of document verification; otherwise the candidature will not be considered valid. Valid Identity Proof: At the exam centre, candidates must carry their admit card along with one valid original photo ID - PAN card, Aadhar card, driving license, or passport. Ration cards and learning licenses are not accepted as valid ID proof. Document Discrepancy: Any mismatch between the details filled in the online application and the original documents produced at verification will result in immediate cancellation of selection. Exam Centre Authority: The Undertaking reserves the final right to allot a centre other than the one requested, or change the centre for administrative reasons. The Undertaking reserves the right to cancel or modify the recruitment process, in full or in part, at any stage.
