About This Eligibility Test
The Bihar School Examination Committee (BSEB) is conducting the School Librarian Eligibility Test, known locally as Vidyalaya Pustakalayadhyaksh Patrata Pariksha 2026. This test determines eligibility for appointment as a school librarian in Bihar, under the rules established by the Bihar government in 2025. The exam is computer-based and consists of multiple-choice questions totaling 150 marks. Although the test awards eligibility certificates to successful candidates, no direct job vacancies are announced through this notification. Applications are accepted online at sletregistration.cbrt.co.in from 1 October 2026 until 21 October 2026.
Who Can Apply
The test is open to candidates holding a degree in Library Science who are residents of Bihar. Age limits vary by category, with general male candidates eligible up to 37 years as of 1 August 2026. Women candidates and those from reserved categories such as Backward Class (BC), Extremely Backward Class (EBC), Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) have higher age limits ranging from 40 to 42 years. This flexibility ensures fair opportunity across social groups. Since this is an eligibility test, candidates must meet these educational and age criteria to be considered for certification.
