These posts are open only to local residents (domiciles) of Chhattisgarh state. Candidates who are not local residents of Chhattisgarh are not eligible to apply for direct recruitment to these posts.

All three posts, Namuna Sahayak, Lab Assistant (Aushadhi), and Lab Assistant (Khadya), carry the same pay scale. Selected candidates will be appointed on a 3-year probationary period as per Chhattisgarh Civil Service rules.

Selection for all three posts will be made through a written examination conducted by CGSSB, followed by document verification and medical fitness checks by the department. The written exam will be a single question paper of 100 marks, consisting of 100 objective-type questions, each carrying 1 mark. Candidates will get 2 hours to attempt the paper. Each question has four options, and the correct option must be marked on the OMR sheet using a blue or black ballpoint pen. Negative marking applies: 1/4 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Final merit will be determined based on marks scored in the written examination. Selection of eligible candidates will be made by the Departmental Selection Committee based on merit. Original certificates of shortlisted candidates will be verified by the Office of the Controller, Food and Drug Administration, Chhattisgarh, before appointment. Selected candidates must produce a fitness certificate from the District Hospital Medical Board before joining service. Police verification (character verification) will be conducted after the candidate joins duty. A waiting list will also be released for these posts, valid for one year from the date of release.

Candidates are not required to upload caste, date of birth, local residence, educational qualification, disability, or ex-serviceman certificates along with the online application; these will be verified by the appointing authority at the document verification stage. However, candidates must have the following ready and must carry a valid photo ID to the examination centre: Higher Secondary (10+2) mark sheet and certificate (Science stream) Local resident (domicile) certificate of Chhattisgarh Caste/category certificate, where applicable (SC/ST/OBC non-creamy layer) Disability certificate, for candidates applying under the PwBD category Ex-servicemen certificate, where applicable A valid original photo ID proof such as Voter ID Card, Driving Licence, PAN Card, or Aadhaar Card Recent colour photograph and scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format (50 KB to 100 KB) for profile registration Candidates seeking a No Objection Certificate exemption while already working in a government service or recognized institution must submit a No Objection Certificate from their employer before selection.

Only local residents of Chhattisgarh are eligible to apply for direct recruitment to these posts. Candidates must ensure they meet all eligibility conditions before applying; the responsibility of verifying eligibility lies solely with the candidate. Merely applying or appearing for the examination does not guarantee selection; ineligible candidates can be disqualified at any stage. The number of vacancies advertised is subject to change. Reservation in these recruitments and selection processes is subject to the final order/decision in SLP(C) No. 19668/2022 pending before the Supreme Court of India. Male candidates having more than one living spouse, and female candidates who married such a man, are disqualified from appointment under Chhattisgarh Civil Service (General Conditions of Service) Rules, 1961, except with government exemption. Candidates found to be physically or mentally unfit are not eligible for appointment. If any candidate is found exerting political pressure or influencing the selection process, their application will be rejected and candidature cancelled at any stage. No travel allowance or other allowance will be paid to candidates for appearing in any level of the selection examination. The admit card will be uploaded on the CGSSB website approximately 7 days before the exam and will not be sent by post. Candidates must reach the exam centre at least 2 hours before the exam for frisking and identity verification. Light-coloured, half-sleeve clothing is mandatory; dark-coloured clothing and jewellery are prohibited inside the exam hall. Selected candidates will be appointed on probation for 3 years and must submit a medical fitness certificate and complete police verification before/after joining.
