DRDO GTRE Consultant Recruitment 2026 for Technical and Admin Roles

The Gas Turbine Research Establishment (DRDO GTRE) is looking to fill three consultant positions on contract basis in Bengaluru. These roles include two technical consultant posts at higher pay levels and one administrative consultant post. Candidates who have retired from central or state governments, public sector undertakings, autonomous bodies, universities, or government research organizations are eligible to apply. The contract is initially for one year with possible extensions. Applications must be submitted offline or via email between 9 October and 29 October 2026.

Applicants must be retired officials from central or state government departments, public sector units, autonomous organizations, universities, or government research and development institutions. For the Consultant (Pay Level-12) technical post, candidates should have experience with data acquisition and monitoring systems in electronics, along with skills in technical coordination and documentation. The Pay Level-11 technical consultant should have expertise in technical photography, videography, and visual documentation related to engine and rig testing. The administrative consultant role at Pay Level-6 requires experience in HR functions such as training needs, higher studies schemes, orientation programmes, and apprentice training. There are no age limits specified.

The remuneration depends on whether the consultant is a pensioner or not. Pensioners receive a fixed monthly amount after deducting their basic pension from their last drawn pay. Non-pensioners have fixed monthly payments based on their pay level, such as Rs. 30,000 for Pay Level-6, Rs. 50,000 for Pay Level-11, and Rs. 60,000 for Pay Level-12. Conveyance allowances are Rs. 3,000 for pay levels up to 11 and Rs. 5,000 for pay level 12 and above.
