About HAL Barrackpore
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. According to the notification, HAL is a premier aeronautical industry of South East Asia, operating 21 Production/Overhaul/Service Divisions and 10 collocated Research & Design (R&D) Centres, along with one Facility Management Division, spread across the country.
Educational Qualification
As per the notification, candidates applying for any of the five trades above must have completed: Full-time 10th / HSC / SSC, and ITI under the Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS) in the respective trade (Welder, Turner, Machinist, Electrician, or Fitter), from a recognized institute only. The qualification requirement is the same across all five trades; there is no separate qualification listed per trade beyond this.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidate should have passed regular and full-time 10th/HSC/SSC and ITI under the Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS) in the above trades, from a recognized institute only. Only candidates who passed their respective course in the year 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, or 2025 are eligible to apply. Candidates who have undergone, are undergoing, or are already registered under a NAPS Contract of Apprentice elsewhere are not eligible. Candidates with work experience of one or more years are not eligible. Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
Reservation Policy
Reservations for engagement of Apprentices shall be applicable as per the Apprentices Act 1961 and Rules and Subsequent Amendments, and for wards of HAL employees as per HAL Corporate Office Guidelines. OBC candidates must produce a valid Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) Certificate. The notification does not specify a category-wise reserved seat breakdown.

Important Instructions
Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply. Candidates must register on the NAPS 2.0 portal and obtain a system-generated Registration Number before the walk-in. Candidates must ensure they meet all eligibility criteria before appearing for the walk-in, and that the particulars furnished at the time of document verification are true and correct in all respects. Submission of false or incorrect information, or suppression of facts, will lead to cancellation or termination of candidature at any stage, including during the training period. Only candidates who have passed the qualifying examination and possess Original/Provisional certificates as on 24.07.2026 are eligible. OBC candidates must produce a valid Non-Creamy Layer Certificate. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification. HAL reserves the right to cancel, restrict, or modify the notification criteria and/or selection process without prior notice or reason. The number of vacancies can also be modified at the Company's discretion. HAL's decision on eligibility, acceptance/rejection of applications, and selection will be final and binding. After completion of the Apprenticeship Training, the apprenticeship contract will be terminated, and HAL, Barrackpore Division, is under no obligation to offer employment. Candidates must make their own arrangements for accommodation and travel for the walk-in process and for joining the apprenticeship.
