Assistant Professor Grade II: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout. Assistant Professor Grade I: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout. Minimum three years of industrial/ research/ teaching experience, excluding, however, the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D. Assistant Professor Grade II (School of Innovation): Ph.D., the qualifications and experience criteria are as per Institute General Eligibility Criteria (Ref. Point 8 (a)). Candidates without a Ph.D. satisfying all criteria of Assistant Professor Grade I, except having only 5+ years of teaching / research / professional experience, may be appointed as Assistant Professor Grade II with appropriate pay based on the number of years of experience. After satisfying the experience criteria required for Assistant Professor Grade I, they will be moved to Assistant Professor Grade I. Position will be on contract basis. Assistant Professor Grade I (School of Innovation): Ph.D., the qualifications and experience criteria are as per Institute General Eligibility Criteria (Ref. Point 8 (b)). For candidates without a Ph.D., a minimum of 8 years of teaching / research / professional experience is required. However, such candidates will be required to obtain their Ph.D. within 5 years from the date of joining IIT Indore.

Assistant Professor Grade II: Pay Level 10 (₹70,900 - ₹1,39,140) per month. Assistant Professor Grade I: Pay Level 12 (₹1,01,500 - ₹1,94,220) per month.
