| Selection Procedure | Candidates curious about the selection procedure should know it involves two stages - a Typing Test followed by an Interview - and merit is calculated based on combined performance in both. The process begins with shortlisting based on qualifying degree marks,not a separate written exam.,Shortlisting for Typing Test: Candidates are listed in order of merit based on the percentage of marks scored in their qualifying degree examination. Roughly 10 times the number of notified vacancies in each category are called for the Typing Test. Typing Test (100 Marks,60 minimum to pass): A passage of 500 words is dictated over 10 minutes,and candidates must transcribe it on a computer within 20 minutes. Interview (20 Marks,10 minimum to pass): Successful candidates from the Typing Test are called for interview,in order of merit,up to 5 times the number of notified vacancies per category. Final Merit List: Prepared out of a Grand Total of 120 marks (70 minimum required to pass),combining Typing Test and Interview scores. |
