Candidates applying for the Lakshadweep Veterinary Assistant Surgeon post must satisfy both the educational qualification and age limit criteria mentioned below.

The selected Veterinary Assistant Surgeon will be paid a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 50,000/- (Fifty Thousand) per month. No other allowances, including travelling allowance for joining or TA/DA for attending the interview, will be paid.

Selection for the Veterinary Assistant Surgeon post will be based on a virtual interview. Key points of the selection process include: Interviews will be conducted in virtual mode during the third week of July 2026. The exact date and time slot will be communicated individually to shortlisted candidates. The interview board will recommend a select/merit list. Future vacancies arising during the 11-month period, or during a subsequent 11-month re-engagement period, may be filled from the same merit list, based on candidate performance and departmental requirement. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Applications submitted without supporting documents will be rejected. Candidates must attach self-attested copies of the following along with the application form: Proof of educational qualifications and mark sheets (B.V.Sc. degree) Valid Veterinary Council registration certificate Caste certificate (if applicable) Proof of age (date of birth certificate) Proof of experience (if applicable) Selected candidates must produce all original certificates at the time of joining for verification.

The engagement is purely contractual for a period of 11 months. Re-engagement of the same candidate may be considered based on performance and departmental requirement. The selected candidate may be posted to any Animal Husbandry Unit under Lakshadweep Administration. No travelling allowance will be paid for joining, and no TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Applications without supporting documents will be rejected. Selected candidates will have no right or claim to regular service based on this contractual engagement. The Department of Animal Husbandry is empowered to terminate the engagement at any time without assigning any reason. Selected candidates must enter into an agreement in the prescribed proforma and adhere to all departmental instructions and guidelines. The Department reserves the right to cancel this notification at any time without assigning any reason.
