Troubleshooting and Common Mistakes to Avoid

Online application portals for government recruitment can be error-prone, especially as deadlines approach. The following general precautions will help you avoid common technical and procedural mistakes. Apply well before the deadline: Server load increases significantly on the last day. Attempting to pay or submit on the final date risks timeouts, failed transactions, and missed deadlines. Verify payment before closing the window: If a payment gateway transaction fails or remains pending, wait a few minutes and check your bank statement before retrying. Duplicate payments are generally not refunded. Save your registration number immediately: Note down your registration number and application ID as soon as you register. Without it, recovering your application or accessing admit cards later becomes difficult. Check photo and document upload specifications: Government portals typically specify file size limits (e.g., 20100 KB for photos) and accepted formats (JPG/PDF). Uploading files outside these limits causes silent rejection of uploads. Use a compatible browser: If the portal does not load correctly, try a different browser or disable browser extensions. Avoid mobile browsers for the final submission step. Check spam/junk mail: NHSRCL explicitly advises candidates to monitor their spam folders. Shortlisting communications and CBT admit card links are sent to the registered email only. Do not count ineligible experience: Experience from teaching, faculty roles, apprenticeships, internships, proprietorship, partnership, or freelancing will not be counted. Ensure only qualifying service is reflected in your application. One application only: Submitting applications for more than one post under Vacancy Notices 08/2026 to 20/2026 is explicitly not permitted. Ensure you apply for the single most appropriate post before submitting.
