Eligibility Explained
To apply for these Sports Quota posts, candidates must be between 18 and 25 years old as of 1 January 2027, meaning your date of birth should fall between 2 January 2002 and 1 January 2009. Educational qualifications vary depending on the pay level: for Level 1 posts, a 10th pass or equivalent qualification such as ITI or National Apprenticeship Certificate is required; for Levels 2 and 3, candidates should have completed 12th standard or equivalent, with technical posts requiring ITI or apprenticeship certificates; Level 4 and 5 posts require a graduation degree from a recognised institution. Alongside education, applicants must possess the prescribed sports achievements in specified disciplines to qualify for selection.
Application Process
Applications must be submitted online through Southern Railway's official recruitment portal starting 26 September 2026 at 9:00 AM, with the last date to apply being 25 October 2026 at 11:59 PM. You will need to register, fill out the application form with your personal and educational details, upload the required documents, and pay the applicable fee. The fee is Rs. 500 for most candidates, with a concessionary fee of Rs. 250 for SC, ST, women, ex-servicemen, persons with benchmark disabilities, minority communities, and economically backward classes. After submitting your application, keep a copy of the confirmation for your records. Details about the sports trials will be announced later on the RRC Chennai website.
