TGPSC Deputy Educational Officers / Head Master Recruitment 2026 – Overview
| Selection Procedure | Selection will be made through a Written Examination (Objective Type) conducted either in OMR-based Offline mode or Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) mode. The mode of examination will be notified through web note / press note and also on the Hall Ticket. Stage 1 - Written Examination (Objective Type) The examination consists of two papers totalling 450 marks. Paper-I covers General Studies and General Abilities (150 questions, 150 marks, 150 minutes). Paper-II covers Basic Foundations of Education (Part A: 75 marks) and Educational Leadership, Administration and Management (Part B: 75 marks), totalling 150 marks in 150 minutes. The examination is bilingual (English and Telugu). Qualifying marks: OC/Sports/EWS - 40%, BC - 35%, SC/ST/PH - 30%. Stage 2 - Normalization (for Multi-Session CBRT) If the examination is conducted in multiple sessions, TGPSC will normalize scores using the Commission’s adopted formula to account for variation in question papers. Results will be announced on percentile basis after normalization. Normalized marks only will be used for General Ranking List (GRL) preparation. Stage 3 - Document Verification & Medical Examination Selected candidates must undergo document verification and be found medically fit as per the prescribed medical examination. TGPSC DEO / Gazetted Head Master Grade-I Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must satisfy all eligibility conditions as on the date of Notification i.e., 05/06/2026. The result of requisite educational qualification must have been declared by the concerned University as on the date of notification. Mere possession of the minimum educational qualification does not guarantee selection.

Who should NOT apply for TGPSC DEO / Gazetted Head Master Grade-I Recruitment 2026?
Candidates who do not possess both a Bachelor’s Degree (with B.Ed.-eligible subjects) AND a Post Graduate Degree with the required minimum percentage of marks. Candidates whose qualifying examination result was not declared by the concerned University as on 05/06/2026. Candidates expecting reservation benefits without valid category certificates in the prescribed format issued by Telangana Revenue Authorities not below the rank of Tahsildar. BC candidates belonging to the Creamy Layer. Candidates from other states claiming reservation benefits - out-of-state candidates are not entitled to any reservation under Telangana rules. Candidates who have obtained degrees through Open/Distance Education mode that are not recognised by UGC / AICTE / Distance Education Bureau. Candidates who cannot satisfy the local candidature requirement applicable to Multi Zone-I or Multi Zone-II posts.
Common mistakes / What to check before applying TGPSC DEO / Gazetted Head Master Grade-I Recruitment 2026?
Not registering OTR (One Time Registration) before attempting to apply - OTR registration is mandatory to access the application form. Confusing OTR registration as an application submission - OTR alone is NOT an application for any post under any circumstances. Not updating PH / disability status in OTR, which will result in non-consideration for PH vacancies. Uploading a photograph older than 3 months before the last date of application (file size must be 100kb-200kb in JPG/PNG format). Not mentioning unemployed status when claiming exemption from examination fee. Entering incorrect email ID or mobile number - all TGPSC communications, including OTP, are sent to the registered contact details. Not clicking CONFIRM & SUBMIT button after filling the application - application particulars will not be saved without this final step. Waiting until the last date to apply - technical issues near the deadline cannot be accommodated.
