Eligibility Explained
Candidates must have passed Madhyamik (Secondary) or an equivalent examination. In addition, they should possess skills in computer operation and typing to be considered eligible. The age requirement is between 18 and 45 years as of 1 January 2024. There are age relaxations for reserved categories: Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates of West Bengal get a 5-year relaxation, and Other Backward Classes (OBC) non-creamy layer candidates of West Bengal get 3 years. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) have an upper age limit relaxation up to 45 years. Ex-servicemen with at least six months of continuous service can deduct their service period from their age, provided the adjusted age does not exceed the maximum by more than three years. SC, ST, and OBC candidates from other states are treated as general candidates and receive no relaxations.
